How It Started
A Calling to Quesnel
Two Rivers Church was founded with a heart for the people of West Quesnel, seeking to bring the Good News of Jesus to the community. After years of ministry in Ontario, Lawrence Keen, a Quesnel native, felt called to return to his hometown to plant a church that would reflect God's love in both word and action.
Alongside his wife Liz, they relocated from Toronto to Quesnel in 2020. A bible study with Lawrence's cousin Bob and his wife Cyndi was the beginning of the team. Others would join, some who were sent generously from New Life Church and others who saw the beginning of the public ministry that took place on the westside of the pedestrian bridge on Sunday afternoons.
Growth and Partnership
Along with Bible study and serving at the bridge on Sunday afternoons, the launch team also began to volunteer at Victory Way Church at 214 Anderson Drive. This included serving meals on Saturdays and participating in Sunday worship services.
Soon the leadership at Victory Way began to see a potential formal partnership and transition with Two Rivers. In September of 2022, the process was inaugerated and Two Rivers Church was officially relaunched at 214 Anderson Drive one year later.
